About Christopher Jain Miller, PhD

Christopher Jain Miller, PhD, is co-founder and Vice President of Academic Affairs at Arihanta Institute, Professor of Jain and Yoga Studies at Arihanta Institute, Professor of Engaged Jain Studies at Claremont School of Theology, and Visiting Researcher at Universität Zürich's Asien-Orient-Institut.

He earned his PhD in the Study of Religion from the University of California, Davis, and has taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels since 2014. His primary research fields are Yoga Studies and Engaged Jain Studies.

Christopher currently serves as co-chair of the Yoga in Theory and Practice Unit at the American Academy of Religion and is a founding member of the Yoga Studies Research Network. He is an associate editor of the Journal of Dharma Studies and author of Embodying Transnational Yoga: Eating, Singing, and Breathing in Transformation (Routledge, 2024), in addition to numerous academic articles and edited volumes.

Beverley Nolan is a somatic movement educator, yoga practitioner, teacher trainer, author, and founder of Barefoot Body Training.

With 40 years of embodied practice, her work draws from Integrative Bodywork & Movement Therapy, Body-Mind Centering®, the Feldenkrais Method®, and Authentic Movement. She has taught extensively across the UK and Europe and previously served as faculty for the Institute for IBMT and Director of Studies at her own professional training school.

Beverley is co-author of Leading Safe & Simple Yoga Nidras and writes the Substack publication Field Notes From the Body. Her forthcoming solo book, Bodyscapes: Guided Somatic Explorations in Anatomy, Movement and Meaning, will be published by North Atlantic Books in November 2026.
